About
We're a small LUG (but growing) in a rural area called Cévennes in France. We are also eager to promote libre music and culture, and open formats such as ODT, OGG and FLAC. With meager resources we help complete newbies, make complete installations of Ubuntu for them, give them lessons. Advanced users are welcome just as geeks as long as they feel up to living in the midst of ordinary human beings ;-)
We have spruced up six old computers that were given to us by people, and installed Ubuntu, Xubuntu, SliTaz and Puppy-Linux, and we have made them accessible to the public in the local library. We play libre music from Jamendo Dogmazic or Magnatune, in the library, and we have burned quite a few albums for a small nonprofit organisation which serves vegetarian meals.
In view of the next local election (march 2008) we are getting a few candidates to sign up "Le Pacte du Logiciel Libre" launched by APRIL, a French nation-wide organization for libre software which we are a member of.
We're in the midst of organizing some event for "Le Libre en Fête", a nation-wide feast in France, and for the Document Freedom Day.

DFD 2010
We nearly missed DFD, this year. So we are improvising, doning our tee-shirts and having a glass of apple juice or a cup of coffee, and making a picture. At least we have written an article about this event and we encourage visitors to get informed about open formats and open standards.
